About MeWes Linch was introduced to Yoga and Eastern philosophy over 15 years ago in a desire to know more about himself. He quickly discovered the benefits of Yoga far exceed open hips; although, if you’ve ever taken his class, you would disagree!
Wes is a Hatha Yoga instructor, having received over 1200 hours of training, primarily in the Krishnamacharya lineages of teaching. He has studied extensively modern Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Shadow Yoga, and Viniyoga. He is one of a few certified Yogaworks Method instructors in the greater Bay Area and has taught in their teacher trainings. Currently, he is continuing his training and studies with Nicki Doane (Maya Yoga) along with Kristin Bosteels and Eddie Modestini (Yoga on the Inside). He has also had the privilege of studying in depth with Mynx Inatsugu (Yogaworks and Viniyoga) and Mark Horner (Shadow Yoga). Throughout Wes’s career, he has served as an ambassador for Lululemon as well as VitaCoco. He currently serves as the Lead Yoga Teacher at Bay Club Walnut Creek and as the Director of Hatha Yoga for DhyanYoga Centers. Wes focuses primarily on bridging the gap between breath, alignment, and awareness. He aims to make the energy of the practice relevant on and off the mat by introducing traditional yogic teachings with a modern twist. His classes are fun, sweaty, challenging, full of great humor and heart. |

vinyasa
|
Vinyasa is probably the most popular style of Yoga in the West today; oftentimes, described as "Flow" for it's signature linking of postures with breath. Modern Vinyasa Yoga was really developed out of the systems of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and Iyengar Yoga as taught by BKS Iyengar. My own personal favorite definition of Vinyasa is the "conscious linking of postures coupled with breath, bandha, movement, and alignment".

Yoga On the Inside
yogaworks Method |
Yoga on the Inside is a method of yoga pioneered by Eddie Modestini and Kristin Bosteels. With a strong focus on structural alignment, this practice gives students the tools to take healing into their own hands, and watch as their efforts bring deep change to all layers of their beings– physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Props are often used to explore new ways of accessing familiar poses and to tailor each pose to the unique anatomy of the student. As a student, you will be encouraged to turn your attention inwards during the practice, learning how to bring yourself into a more meditative state even in the face of challenge.
YogaWorks yoga is a vinyasa-based, carefully-instructed flow that observes a distinct approach to sequencing and breaks down the poses with particular attention to detail.
YogaWorks classes are taught to create a safe, inspiring, engaging space for yogis of all levels to explore the depths of their own practice. Classes are usually built around a specific theme, culminating with a peak posture and blending the essential elements of breathwork, balance and flowing movement. YogaWorks is a full on mind, body, soul experience. It strengthens the body with the use of traditional poses, invigorating vinyasa flows, twisting and balancing sequences, inversions, core engagement and restorative supine postures to slow down and reset.
